Over time, the tissues of the face and neck lose firmness and move downward. A facelift aims to reposition them to restore a more rested contour, without changing the person’s expression.
What “Deep Plane” means
The word plane refers to the layer of tissue the surgeon works in. In the Deep Plane technique the work happens in a deep plane, so the tissues are repositioned together and not just the skin. The idea is a natural-looking result rather than stretched skin.
How it differs from other facelifts
- Skin and deep tissue: instead of mainly tightening the skin, the structure that supports it is repositioned too.
- Cheeks, jawline and neck: they are treated as a whole, so the change is harmonious.
- Individual planning: every face is different; the technique is adapted to your case.
Who it is usually considered for
It is usually considered when there is sagging in the cheeks, jawline or neck, deep lines between the nose and mouth, or a face that looks more tired than the person feels. Whether it is the right option is decided at the consultation, based on your history, your examination and what you are looking for.
Before deciding
Ask about alternatives, about risks and about what recovery looks like in your case. A good plan is talked through calmly and delivered in writing.
This text is a demonstration and does not replace a medical consultation. Dr. Flórez reviews it and replaces it with his own content once the project is approved.
